Cochlear implant
The cochlear implant is a device implanted surgically to provide hearing for sever hearing problems or even being deaf. This device includes a microphone, speech processor, reviever and transmitter and an electrode array (electrodes that collect the sound and pass it to the audiotory nerve). The implant repairs damaged sections of the ear and sends audio strait to the audiotory nerve. Cochlear implants provide hearing to children as well as adults although once done in sugery it takes major therapy to be able to learn with hearing again. It benifits with people to be able to regognise signals and regular sounds around them. |
